lets talk about guns!

Do you like to shoot? Does your country allow you to own guns? I love to shoot and do when ever I can! Going out this weekend to burn up about 1000 rounds Yeeeee Haaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Started when I was about 10 joined a rifle team and was a marksman at age 12! Just bought a Chinese SKS 7.62x39 in great shape. That will be the main weapon this weekend. I also have a few pistols .25 cal, .40 cal M16: semi auto and a .44 mag

I've never shot anything more powerful than a pellet gun. I'm sure it's fun, though. freak:

Not that I have any moral objection to shooting. I think it's a cool sport if its kept in a controlled environment (Read: rifle range, not elementary school).

Fire away! fire2:

i prefer national forest over shooting range angel: i'm not too sure the wandering cows do tho, going to buy a garand in december i think once i get enough money, current posessions include AR-15, ruger blackhawk, mossberg mariner i forget the model #, S&W 645 i believe, and some semi-auto .22 that reminds me of a garand biggrin: got a .38 around here somewhere too but haven't used it.

Zoner 09-04-2002 08:04 AM

How much would a garand cost, Strik0r? I assume it would be vintage....do they make 'em new anymore?

I'm currently reading "Dreamcatcher" by Stephen King and the guys in the book use garands to hunt deer. I found that surprising.

*deer pokes head out of bushes*

Me: "C'mere you no skillz deer nOOb!!" *Pow-pa-pow-pow-pa-pow-pow-pow-pa-pow-pow* *PING*

Give me a Thompson anyday.

09-04-2002 08:14 AM

$500 for what is called a "remake" which is something like a base garand with the parts replaced at a later date, i forget exactly how it goes it's been awhile since it was explained to me.

09-04-2002 08:21 AM

shooting is fun,
I wouldn't hunt unless I had to for food or safety (safety=shoot charging grizzly)
I don't want to mess with dead deer and stuff after I shoot 'em, so I just won't shoot them.

Sgt>Stackem 09-04-2002 08:24 AM

I looked at a garand before I bought the SKS. If you are in Michigan go to Guns Galore in Fenton, great prices and many garands in stock. Try layaway it is less of a hit in the pocketbook.

I love shooting, mostly (but not limited to) shotguns - skeet, ducks, geese, etc.

Springfield armoury has new m1 garandes and carbines. they run in excess of $1k US. Very nice guns though. I would like to have one, myself.

BallisticWookie 09-05-2002 06:41 AM

Guns I like, shooting animals, I dont like. Seeing Australia's gun laws are pretty strict these days we are restricted to using only handguns and bolt action rifles, also Western style guns like lever actions. I like going down to pop a few rounds down range, it's always good fun.

When I get the cash, I might get myself a Hk USP .45, very nice handgun.

SoLiDUS 09-05-2002 07:18 AM

Dude, I am envious of you...

In Canada, any semi-automatic pistol falls under the prohibited weapons
list in the Criminal Code.

So much for me owning a real "toy" hake:

Damn, that sucks. Well, a few years ago before a dickhead named Martin Bryant decided to kill 35 people here in Australia (perfect example of why we should have the death penalty) I was hoping to get myself an AR-15 or a CAR-15 modified to shoot semi auto. Unfortunately, that demented fuck destroyed alot of sporting shooters fun by making them give up their weapons to be destroyed. So anyway, we are basically stuck with bolt action rifles and handguns, and if the tree huggers get their way aswell the anti gun lobbyists, we will be in the same boat as the Brits and you Canucks. Sometimes being law abiding gets you freaking nowhere. mad: mad: mad: mad:

Hey stackem my dads got an SKS...great rifle fire1:

Sgt>Stackem 09-09-2002 11:43 AM

had the SKS hitting the target at 500m!!!!!! Iron sights at 500m, it was awesome could barley see the target let alone hit it. Made an awesome shot with one of my pistols .40 cal semi auto (Ruger P944) 140 yards hit a can on the first shot, some luck was involved but i still will take all the credit!

Bazooka_Joe 09-09-2002 01:42 PM

The last gun I shot was a SAW at Fort Knox. But before that was the 50-cal Sniper Rifle. That thing was great. . . . I wanted to have man-sex with it.

rudedog 09-09-2002 02:07 PM

OK, lets see if I post these pics again, will it start a flame war with the anti-gun crowd here.

OK here goes. Just remember safety guys. you can own all types of firearms but please remember to always handle a gun safely.

My collection:

My most prized weapon right now is the H&K SP89, (semi-auot MP5 with laser site). Until I get the funds for my MG-42 semi auto belt fed.

My daughter firing the "Tommy gun" gun as she calls it

I'm sorry, Rude. It's just everytime I see that baby pic it makes me think what you did when you were tall enough to reach the rifles, heh

And now your daughters?!? ack! Note to self: DON'T break into Rude's house, he has his OWN home-land security! heh

rudedog 09-09-2002 03:56 PM
