I got several issues with multiplayer but I like the game anyways very much.
1. The allies rifle superior to axis rifle 2. (I believe) allies sniper rifle is slighty preferable to axis sniper rifle 3. There are cheats which for some people are valuable for single player but why do they work in multiplayer? 4. for certain connections - pings jump up when people are in close combat (maybe there is no way to stop this but i noticed pings jumping up when people are in a close firefight and they both shoot behind the other person for a while.) There are several things i like about the game such as very very good control of grenades (much better then RTCW). |
The weapons are based on reality. Yes, the M1 is better than the axis rifle in real life. Yes, it is better in teh game.
I really hate seeing people say stuff like this. It is based on reality. If there is an advantage in real life, there is one in the game. Deal with it. As for the servers, they need to add in the anti-cheat fix and you need to look for dedicated servers. There is no lag spikes that i know of on those. |
not entirely true.
the germans used the gewehr 43 a lot(500000 were manufactured in ww2). its also semi auto, and it should have been in the game. it would have evened things up a bit. |
The goal is to have the game be kind of realistic, without destroying the gameplay. In Multiplayer, it is important for both sides to be relatively equal, therefore, I think they could have balanced the rifles better.
In MOHAA it is not a huge problem, but i think maybe the allies rifle is not balanced with the axis rifle because everyone seems to prefer the allies rifle. Maybe they made the axis rifle more powerful to compensate - i dont know - but still people seem to prefer allies rifle. I will test it out more though And I forgot to mention the another multiplayer issue: 5. Rockets are no fun in mutliplayer - better to use one of the mods that removes them so no one can use them. |
uhmm no in reality the M1 had strengths that the mauser didnt.
1 being a larger magazine and faster rate of fire. in reality the mauser was more powerful and more accurate. german soldiers were known to absolutely love the accuracy of their rifle. in close range those that had the superior german pistols usually used those anyways. M1 was a good all around rifle but was not far superior to the mauser in anything except rate of fire. also, those of us that know how to use the mauser are quite proficient with it thanks http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif for some info on these rifles go here for the kar98k (awsome info) http://home.thezone.net/~k98k/k98kframe.html and go here for the M1 grand. http://www.wwa.com/~dvelleux/m1rifle.html also of note for those morons like siggi. notice that at 100yards as listed on the mauser page. a 7.62 round(.318 caliber similar to the M1's .303) has a drop of .8 inches. so arguing that you dont have to calculate drop int his game for snipers is obviously a stupid argument. sorry off on a rant. |
