On Thursday, CBS said an American soldier who had been awarded the Purple Heart medal for combat injuries made a special visit to the hospital to see Dozier. "A young American soldier came up to Kimberly's brother Michael and told him that he had met Kimberly in Iraq two years ago after he had been wounded with shrapnel in his arm," CBS said without identifying the soldier. "The soldier had his Purple Heart with him, and he told Michael that he'd like Kimberly to have it because, he said, she's suffered as much as any soldier. That Purple Heart is now beside Kimberly's bed."[/quote:104ba] |
I;m sure she had to endure as much as a day in the life of a normal soldier annoy:

As well as soldiers. It pisses me off that these reporters get all of this special attention because they belong to the media. Casualties in Iraq The Human Cost of Occupation Date Total In Combat American Deaths Since war began (3/19/03): 2473 1992 Since "Mission Accomplished" (5/1/03) (the list) 2336 1895 Since Capture of Saddam (12/13/03): 2008 1686 Since Handover (6/29/04): 1607 1360 Since Election (1/31/05): 1037 875 American Wounded Official Estimated Total Wounded: 17648 18000 - 48100 Latest Fatality May 31st, 2006 Isn't it wonderful that this twat gets all of the attention. I think it was a thoughtful thing to do.

WTF? Explain me one case of when a reporter from Iraq distorted the news. |
Reporters do not distort the news. The only thing reports have going for them is their reputation and if they distort the stories they are reporting on then they lose that reputation and most possibly their jobs. A reporter may however show one side of a story and not the other there for giving you the impression they are distorting the news when they are not. They do this sometimes do to time constraints, some times due to pressure from their boss'.

How the fuck did this turn into a discussion? The soldier thought it would be thoughtful to donate his Purple Heart to a friend. Nobody's creaming their pants over it. It's just heart warming. Chill yourselves. rolleyes:

SRSLY maybe this guy took a Stepped on a piece of glass back at HQ and got the medal and thought that someone who took a carbomb to the face was a little more deserving.
GGs to that guy |
