Default Purple heart for reporter - 06-02-2006, 06:22 PM

Found this on milphotos.net:

[url=http://www.forbes.com/entrepreneurs/feeds/ap/2006/06/02/ap2789249.html:104ba]Article Here![/url:104ba]

[quote:104ba]Kimberly Dozier, the CBS reporter wounded by a car bomb in Iraq, now has a Purple Heart at her bedside in a U.S. military hospital in Germany after a young American soldier gave her his medal, the network said.

On Thursday, CBS said an American soldier who had been awarded the Purple Heart medal for combat injuries made a special visit to the hospital to see Dozier.

"A young American soldier came up to Kimberly's brother Michael and told him that he had met Kimberly in Iraq two years ago after he had been wounded with shrapnel in his arm," CBS said without identifying the soldier. "The soldier had his Purple Heart with him, and he told Michael that he'd like Kimberly to have it because, he said, she's suffered as much as any soldier. That Purple Heart is now beside Kimberly's bed."[/quote:104ba]

Why are you guys flipping out over her getting a medal? It's not like it was given to her by the Army or anything the dude obviously just wanted some play and gave her his.

As well as soldiers. It pisses me off that these reporters get all of this special attention because they belong to the media.

its funny why people care about news reporters anyway, they distort the news most of the time.

Reporters do not distort the news. The only thing reports have going for them is their reputation and if they distort the stories they are reporting on then they lose that reputation and most possibly their jobs. A reporter may however show one side of a story and not the other there for giving you the impression they are distorting the news when they are not. They do this sometimes do to time constraints, some times due to pressure from their boss'.

How the fuck did this turn into a discussion? The soldier thought it would be thoughtful to donate his Purple Heart to a friend. Nobody's creaming their pants over it. It's just heart warming. Chill yourselves. rolleyes:

SRSLY maybe this guy took a Stepped on a piece of glass back at HQ and got the medal and thought that someone who took a carbomb to the face was a little more deserving.

GGs to that guy
