Feel so sorry for all those involved. Most of Thailand and Sri lanka is untouched tho so thats why they're urging tourists to come and spend money.....the main reasons why it was so destructive was that the quake happened in shallow waters so the water moved fast to the beaches and went upwards, if it'd happened in deeper seas then it wouldn't have really reached the beaches and would've just been swallowed in the depths. That and the fact these things only happen about every 700 years, hence lack of preparation and awareness....[/quote:c000e]
