Ok, I'll make myself a little clearer.

Forcing models is not cheating. Your argument that it is cheating when not using custom skins is ludicrous, especially when you back it up with the good old 'You couldn't do it in real war, so why can you do it in a game about war?'.

Simple. It's a game.

You have the option to turn off your crosshair, my good sir, but I'll bet you any money that you don't do that, do you?

Did they have magic flying crosshairs to aim with in the war?

Nuh-uh.

Do you have the option to switch them on or off?

Uh-huh.

Do you switch them off?

Nuh-uh.

Is this cheating?

You tell me.

In the poll you included an option that said 'Yes, but only if using brightly colored skins'. I selected that option.

Using custom skins isn't cheating as it could be a dark custom skin that you like the look of and you (and a few friends, maybe your clan) might use.

I'm not being funny, but if someone needs help seeing models to improve their game then they're not good enough for it to make a difference that they use bright skins.

Seeing your enemy clearly is only half of the battle. The rest of it you have to aim, move, hide, use cover... the list goes on.

Ladders and leagues ban custom skins simply to stop this kind of debate. They put the rule in to make sure everyone knows where they stand.

Barrys World MOH League doesn't ban the use of force models but does ban the use of custom skins and you can be asked to take a screenshot at any time.

If you fail to produce a satisfactory screenshot you are removed from the league.

Simple.

Personally, I don't use force models. My main reason is because this allows you to mark your enemies by the model they use. With force models on everyone looks the same so I never know who is who and you have to think fast to work out how they will play when you first see them.

With force models off you can remember who they are most times and you will already have a good idea how good they are.

On top of that, it looks better.

Anyone is welcome to use force models and bright skins against me, it won't make much difference, in my opinion.
