i just hit delete on boot up to get me into the BIOS when i start up and then choose what area to launch from. this may not answer your question, but in my case have two hard drives and boot up with 98 from one and xp pro from the other.

You can install XP on one hard disk, and Linux on the other.

There's also a fairly easy guide about it in the latest CGW.

Go to the link at the bottom, look for the multi boot link. He does
a good job of explaining everthing and has a lot of pictures to go with
it. Hope this helps.
