Default HL2 to begin steamloading next week\plus cs:source shit - 08-13-2004, 11:40 AM

[quote:6c8a7]Valve's Doug Lombardi confirms assets for the long-delayed shooter will be loaded onto the developer's Steam download service next week.
Two days after Gabe Newell obliquely mentioned it on the Half-Life 2 Fallout forums, next week's pre-loading of Half-Life assets has been officially confirmed. "Yes, we plan to start pre-loading next week," PR director Doug Lombardi told GameSpot.

Valve will only preload textures, audio, and "other stuff that doesn't change," according to Newell. However, the fact the developer is moving finished Half-Life 2 assets to its Steam download service means the long-delayed shooter must be near gold status. The confirmation lends further credence to rumors that Half-Life 2 will complete its final debug next week and be submitted to VU Games for approval shortly thereafter.

Cs:source will begin preloading on steam on the 16th and will be activated on the 18th. One map de_dust since its just a beta test. Condition zero owners and cybercafe whores only.

Meh i find it to be pretty reliable, it had a bit of a flaky start but its pretty dependable, for me at least.
