ok this whole problem started (i think) after I tried formatting the drive oOo:
I have 3 hard drives when before (I formatted) I only had 2.
I have a C,D, and E.

I think I could fix that a:/> thing is I got rid of the E drive or fixed the D drive, I tried to format the d drive but everytime i do it goes to that blue screen..

any ideas?

Sounds like you added a new partition to the drive. Get the system back to a prompt and type fdisk.

I had a harddrive that didn't want to format so I loaded SUSE Linux on it. Next time I put the recovery disk in it formatted the drive and the load worked fine.

beer: dance:

me creates a partion to store start up shit when you install ... probably what that extra partion is.

you can make a startup disk in me by right clicking on A: (my comp / explorer ), format, then check make system disk ...then boot from that disk and youll get to A:

: i dont really remember, but i think you can also get to a: if you boot from win me install disk.

you can safely delete that partion ( i think ) from a: by doing what john said running a:\fdisk then remove partion from the menu.

[quote:5d5cf]Let's Make a Boot Floppy.

Format the floppy and then copy the IO.SYS and COMMAND.COM files from C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\EBD to the floppy.

With My Computer... Insert a floppy disk into drive A:, Click Show Desktop , Double-Click My Computer, Right-Click the floppy drive, select Format from the resulting menu, and click Start. After the floppy is formatted, Double-Click the C: drive, Double-Click the WINDOWS folder, Double-Click the COMMAND folder, Double-Click the EBD folder, click the COMMAND.COM file to highlight it, hold the Ctrl key and click the IO.SYS file to highlight it as well, Right-Click the IO.SYS file, select Copy from the resulting menu, Right-Click the Floppy Drive (A, and select Paste from the resulting menu. All done. You may have to change your CMOS Setup to boot to the floppy. It it is set that way, restarting Windows will boot to the newly created Boot Disk.

Windows 98/SE boot floppies work fine with Win Me hard disk drives. Just don't put the '98 system files on a Win Me hard disk.[/quote:5d5cf]
