Default Fire Wall problems - 10-27-2002, 05:34 PM

I just hooked up a gvc router and was wondering if someone could help me configure it. I have 2 computers and I want to run a RW base station and host a small MOHAA server. When I host a RW channel I cannt find the channel with the other comp so the fire wall is causing grief. I assume that when I go to host a MOHAA server the same will happen. If someone can help that would be great I cannt find any reasources on the net.

OK, not too familiar with your type of router but the basics to get your started.

You will need to forward your MOH port (default 12203) to the computer running the MOH server
Same with RW, you will need to forward the RW port to the computer running the RW base station software.

If you want your box to show up on ASE or GS then you will need to forward all the other ports.

Do a search on "dogmeat ports" to get the complete list of ports.

Depending on your router, you may have to allow outgoing ports as well.
Check with your routers web site for more info on exactly how to forward incoming and outgoing ports

Good luck

Default Thx but I am still messed up - 10-28-2002, 04:53 PM

I got all the ports and opened them on the router but I still cannt get this to work. When I try to host a RW base station it uses my internal IP addy and it isnt visible to the outside world. I can connect to the channel with my other computer. I was using a hub before and it worked but I had 2 different internet IPS. I am totally confused please help.

*** I figured out how to get peeps to join the channel but it is not visible on the channel search in RW please help me***

here is a link for people having the same problem you have with RW.

http://pub50.ezboard.com/fbemlmessagebo ... D=37.topic

most of them switched over to Teamspeak because it's easier to use with a router.

Check out http://www.teamspeak.org for more info Jasper is our TS guru
