background is this :

then using the shape tool i put a starburst over a layer of color (red, brown, i think) then cut it out ... i did this a couple of time on different color layers in different positions, then blended them. i really have no idea how to use color the way ive been using it ... i usually just pic a color and layer it on top of white/ gray/ or a color out of the background, or source pic, then do it a few times until i get some colors i like eek:
