He got off lucky. He should be banned from the NHL.

Neah, it looked more like he tried to chop him in the mid section than the face. Wound up in the face, and it was brutal, but I think an indefinate suspension is plenty justice.

See I disagree. I think he definitely went for the neck/face. He purposely struck him with the narrow side of the stick as well, as opposed to the broadside. He could have easily cause irreversible damage to that guy or even death if he had hit him in the right spot.

There should come a line in sports where players just shouldn't be allowed to play the game when they knowingly try to inflict serious damage on another player.

The last player to attack someone with there stick was banned from the NHL. This should be no differant.

Im to lazy to look it up, it was a year or two ago.

Bertuzzi should have been banned. His was a premeditated act, with far worse consequences. This act was in the heat of the moment, not premeditated.

And you're thinking of Marty McSorley who hit Donald Brashear in the helmet with his stick.

McSorley wasn't banned for life wither. I think it was for a year, but he never came back after that I believe.
