Having seen Guar's other work, this one comes off incredibly simple. Shoulda taken a look at some other magazine layouts. Title obscures to much of the soldiers head, which is the draw-in point for the eye. Simple red box in the lower right corner just that - simple. Nice choice of photo though, and the title is engaging. Buck's is just too damn busy.

hrm its kinda tough...guarne has that magazine authenticity...while Bucks is more vivid, more...."attentionable"...Both are kick ass, but my vote goes to Buckweed.
