We've created our own terrain system (check out the new article with our Director of Development - Vince where he talks about this a bit). It's not Q3 TA terrain either

. But not having the ground pointy is more of a balance between esthetic choices by the LDs, and technology limitations on how we can manipulate the terrain. We try to keep it as smooth as we can to avoid the jaggies
