of the gunshot would he received yesterday. someone tried to break into his house and shot him when he went down to investigate

That totally sucks....to be killed in the "safety" of your own home with your family present. He bled out from the leg wound.

I went to bed last night with them saying he was responsive...I wake up this morning and see this. Lots of NFL players have been dying lately but It's amazing how different it is when it happens to someone on your team that you've watched so much.

His coaches said he was the best physical athlete they'd ever seen.

I guess I'll never get to see him and Laron Landry split a guy in half at the waist with a high/low tackle like I wanted to...

was amazing with the 'canes, was one of my fav players. had the potential to be one of the best safety's ever...gonna miss him

INteresting to notice:

#27 Darrent Williams (24), corner back for the Denver Broncos was shot and killed by a passing gunman while riding in a limo after an altercation at a local nightclub. 1/1/2007

#29 Damien Nash (24), running back for the Denver Broncos collapsed and died after playing a charity basketball game in his hometown of St. Louis. 2/24/2007

#91 Marquise Hill (24), Defensive End for the New England Patriots drowned after falling off his jet ski in his native Louisiana. 5/28/2007

#21 Sean Taylor (24), Safety for the Washington Redskins was shot outside of his Miami home and died the next day. 11/27/2007
