there were thousands from all countries. probably one of the most famous writers and band leaders at the time was Glenn Miller, who enlisted in the Army and started his army band touring around England

I like two English ones in particular..."We'll Hang out our Washing on the Siegfried Line"
and the one that says "There'll be Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover...just you wait and see" ....beautiful.
