If you saw Band of Brothers, the Battle of the Bulge is referenced in episode 6 "Bastogne". The 506th was surrounded, freezing to death, heavily outnumbered, low on ammo, medicine, food, etc. Patton takes credit for saving their ass but you wil never here anyone from the 506th say they needed saving!
