What it is is this. The databse is supposed to be 325 or so MB. When it gets downloaded to your pc it downloads 145mb ish. I got a guy who coded phpbb.com to take a look at part of the database and to have a look at the forum. What he told me was that the database is working to a point (145mb) beyond that it does not work. It is only a matter of time before the forum crashes and the database is unreadabale by mySQL.

Their is no real way to fix a board like this unless it is totally erased and started from scratch. For this forum alone you would need at least a 1.5GHZ pentium 4. Duron servers are ok with small server loads but when it gets to high like this forum does it more or less takes a shit and restarts.

So a seperate server is needed for this message board.

I have a UK hosting account that I am not using I currently have Vbulletin setup on the board and I have made forums there like here. If you want you can use that until this forum is either deleted or fixed either way members and posts will be lost.

That would take care of one of the steps, now all you'd have to do is get the entire group to migrate over.

Although there is just something about this forum. I'm not entirely ready to just give up on it. I think with sweeping reform we can have a NEW WORLD ORDER OF AA.COM!

I agree completely with ED and Judas especially. There are some things that just didn't seem right, when certain people became mods, when I was thinking they were the first that should be banned according to the forum rules but whatever.

Wow, someone finally wants to clean this place up. Well, i agree with the "n00b" part....let them earn their wings. Also, the CONSTANT flaming shit needs to come to an end. Some flaming is ok but not on a constant basis. And another thing, the sigs need to be addressed (yeah, even mine) Kinda feel sorry for those 56K bastards.

if any of the mods could try to cleanup the members than i bet we wouldent have so many crashes.

In regards to the newbie forum, I dont think it should neccesarily be a "newbie forum" because if they KNOW they have to prove themselves and show they arent here to fuck off, then theyll put on a front until they get behind the castle walls. Simply dont make the high-n00b-traffic areas visible to all newcomers. It WOULD be hard to track, but yanno what, if you want this site to be better then you're gonna have to make some sacrifices and bite some bullets.

In regards to some of the flames - I cant imagine how much of it would be cut down if folks actually used their PM's. Again this comes back to the "gang mentality" where one person draws blood and the rest of the sharks come on it. We've seen it happen OVER, and OVER, and OVER again.
