I would never slam on my brakes for an animal. I'm not risking my life for theirs. I heard of a lady who slammed on her brakes and swerved to miss some mutt running loose only to skid into the path of a large truck. The ensuing accident killed two of her kids. Screw the animal.

Your soposed to hit your brakes, but not turn, its better to hit the animal then to miss it and wipe out, but its a natural reaction for most people to swurve outta the way
