Ok all of you with all this petty bullshit - fuck off.

I ended up getting the LEADTEK 64mb DDr GeForce4 TI, simply because I can return the GeForce2 MX without anyone noticing it aint the LEADTEK.

Anywho, already noticed a difference - actually played BAtTLEFIELD on HIGH Settings. That game just got a whole lot more enjoyable.

Same with MOH. Didn't know the faces of the models had THAT kind of detail.

God bless FRY's and their horribly open ended return policies.

Ok - well heres my review of the LEADTEK GeForce4 TI 4200 Ultra TD -

Nice card. Looks snazzy out of the box, but not too fancy. Comes with some bundled software too. But not games I'd normally play. MSI came with HALF LIFE which sucks since I just spent 30 bucks on it. Also has a built on heatsink for the memory and cpu I guess, I dont fucking know.

Anywho - heres the main thing - performance -

Well it comes with the 30.82 drivers from nVidia. Which operate as shit on my XP but probably cause its the warez version. So time to download a new coy of Xp I guess. Anywho, this card cocks when it actually is working. I turned up ALL the settings on Battlefield and MOH and this game was crankin out 50 FPS (which is good appearantly on that excessilby high settings). I havent tried it on lower settins but I'm sure its high as shit.

All in all, if I were going for budget, I'd invest in this card - definately if you choose to get it online since Pricewatch has them very cheap which I might use and return this one in 30 days or so while I wait for the card.

You may have made the right choice ED. The 64 DDR should be enough for most of todays games. The memory opperates at higher speed than the 128 DDR, so its a case of less room but faster turn over. The 128 card will show its power with more detail crammed games, such as DOOM 3 where the size of the memory will be a great asset. Layed textures are where the 128 will excell.

Yes, true, but the 128 can easily be overclocked to near ti4600 speeds (the clock speeds, not the memory speeds). The more I read about this card, the more I think nvidia made this card as a gift to overclockers to promote brand loyalty. I think I am going to purchase one in the next week or two.

So far I'm liking the new card that I got.

Most games I was relegated to run in 800x600 (possibly) resolution, but now I've got MOH and BATTLEFIELD cranked up to the highest settings and resolutions, and these maps are running along nicely. I'm not trying to get huge Frames Per Second, because the game runs fine at the high settings I already have, no need to overclock.

LeadTEK comes with its own overclock utility, so I'll mess around with that sonuva bitch and see what I can get - but more than likely I'm going to get a LeadTEK 128DDR at the end of the month, since they have them for much less on Pricewatch, just not with a manufacturer that seems to sell much in stores. I'll have to do some review-hunting of course, but I'm gonna go with that, or just get a 4600 Ti (which on price watch costs as much as I spent on the Retail 4200).

And man, does BATTLEFIELD look nice when you actually have a computer to handle the effects and graphics. For all those saying the game has "Commodore 64 (?)" graphics, they obviously are running things at a LOW level. Should really take the time to crank that sonuva gun up and see what you are missing. MOH too.
