Grade Point Average mr miyagi.
i dont know how english schools worked, i dont even know how scottish schools grade things now, but when i was there we had standard grades, which were the equivilent of english o grades.
my GPA from them was 2.4, 1 being the highest, 7 being the lowest.
then you go into highers during the 5th (at age 16) and 6th year (at age 17) , which i think in england were called a levels.
then after that you leave school. anyway, i dont think GPA stand for much in the UK, universitys and colleges are interested in the score you get adding up your points. i think an A pass was 3 points, a B pass was 2 points and a C pass was 1 point, and most unis looked for a student to get something like 8 or 10 points from 4 or 5 subjects.
or at least thats how it used to work until they changed the system of grading.....but i dont care, im not at school anymore.

now it's a 4.0 for every A, 3.0 for every B, 2.0 for every C, 1.0 for every D, and no points for an F. Extra points for AP classes, providing you pass the final.

I see you guys are talking about highschool GPA's. I guess it's important for a good H.S. GPA to apply for a college. I forgot what my H.S. stats were but i have a 3.6 GPA in college (Electronics) 2yr degree. Not too shabby i'd say but it really doesn't make that much of a difference in the real world. It's good to see some people take pride in their GPA. Heck, they worked for it so they should !!

When I was in HS I didn't give a rats ass about studying or grades: going to
school was a fukn' chore I wanted to do without. In any case, my average
was close to 75%...
Mind you, I never really studied for anything (unless you count breezing
through your notes 5 minutes before the actual exam biggrin: ) so it's
not surprising that my grades weren't much higher than that. If I could
give you n00bz (hehe stfu) one advice, it would be this: STUDY and LISTEN
while in class: the grades and extra classes you take will really help you
get into a good post-secondary school, if you care...

Yeah, 20% on tests and quizzes is pretty damn low. How will you raise it so much?
