Default Shitlist pool - 10-30-2002, 07:07 AM

I just wish we could have a huge `pool` of shitlisted IPs of persistant cheaters/hackers that we could just keep adding to and adding to. Would be great to just be able to cut/paste into the ban list ya know? Make it a sticky and woo hoo!

Mmmm im gonna keep dreaming *sighs*

I made exactly such a tool for admin's to compile a "master list" of banned IP's a couple months back. On the critique of ST_Bazooka_Joe who suggested power abisive admin's would add IP's that shouldn't really have been banned (only warned perhaps) I decided not to release it. Such an idea in retrospect opens up the possibilty of too much malicious abuse.

Suppose someone added YOUR IP as a joke? You'd find yourself banned from server's "gamespy wide".

I agree with this assessment. Just the other day I found out that I was kicked out of the DOA for cheating. Huh? I was never in the DOA or any clan for that matter, much less kicked out. I kept questioning the accuser but he was pretty vague about the whole thing. He assumed that since I knew the names of a few of DOA, that it was true and that since I visited a forum, that I was a cheater. I think server nazis are more prevalent than cheaters and a much greater threat if they were to have these types of powers.

If someone from doa IS making these accusations, please come forward and tell me personally. PM me if you dont want to air it here. Personally, I have never had a problem with the clan when it was in MOH and have/had a fair amount of respect for a number of its members.

Dude,

The =[DOA]= server has been shut down for 3 weeks now and the only
person who could add banned IPs was me, and I am very selective as to
who gets added to that list and for what reason

Where were you being accused of cheating and who was the accuser?
There are lots of =[DOA]= impersonators out there, there was even
a fake =[DOA]= server for a while

Just like anything else online, the ability to be annonymous brings out
the RETARD in lots of people... its a bummer we all have to deal with

Ball - I know the DOA server has been down a while and I mentioned that to the guy. As I said, I have respect for the DOA I have met onine. I was playing on the mobclan#2 server. I recognized the guys name from before, but dont remember from where. He wasnt DOA, but said he was told by a DOA. Obviously, I know that I wasnt kicked or banned from your server. I will pm you the guys name because I dont want to be hippocritical and sling some dudes name around. Thanks for your response.

First off, I don't follow what happened to you Pest. If ANY DOA(real members or not) are giving ANYONE problems, we want to hear about it!!! mohm.com

Yep can see the problems with the `shitlist pool` idea, I personally HATE nazi Admins above all things, which is why I restricted the =FM= clanserver rcon password, with consent from server + website provider, to just 3 members of the clan.

Its just a lovely thought having all the bastards in one IP pool, no wait...its an even nicer thought having all the cheat/hackers in one locked room with a can of VX gas, ohh and a cam-corder to save the moment.

die cheaters DIE!!! lol

I want to apologize for any confusion on my earlier posts. I mixed two thoughts and didnt mean to cast DOA in a negtive light. It was not my intent.
