A little thing o History -
11-06-2002, 12:36 PM
I have to do a speech in history (bah) and I need a topic. Some obscure little topic/battle would be nice, but one that I can get not-often heard facts about.
Between 1492 and ... the civil war, whenever that was :)
US History only.
A person, a battle? Preferably a battle. Lemme know what you guys know of, thanks.

That leaves you the american revolution, mexican american war or the war of 1812. I always liked the battle of new orleans. Theres also the alamo, the burning of DC, Custers last stand, etc. Theres a ton of them. It shouldnt be too hard to fnd one.

Do the Battle of Concord and Lexington. Get the book called "Minutemen and Their World", read the chapter that involves the battle, and viola.

What? Why did you get kicked out?
Here's a cool flash showing how Stalingrad went, I also have the book with the same name waiting to be read after I finish this other book. Aghhhhhhh...

Start your paper like this:
In the year of 1492,
Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria,
Were the boats that took him here-a.
