Default AA.com server's Spearhead plans!?!? - 11-07-2002, 08:27 AM

I was thinking about how I love the aa.com server and how i cant wait to play spearhead. Then I realized that it might take some time for the server to change to the new stuff that comes with SH. I guess my question is, once i have SH, will i still be able to play on servers that are still on 1.11, or will i be suck on only SH servers. Will the aa.com server move to SH anytime in the futre. Basicly, what are the future plans for the AA.com server. Rudedog?

Rude and I were discussing this last night. Here's how it looks.

He wants a Spearhead server. New maps, weapons, skins, etc. He's in the process of packing up the MOH:AA server for the big move from XGS to McCusker's provider (The All About Nothing server).

Once this move is done, Spearhead should be out. By then, Rude hopes to transform the AA.COM server into the AA.COM Spearhead server. If the game sucks though, we're going back to the AA server. biggrin:

Rude, if I misunderstood anything you said, please feel free to correct me & bitch me out, heh

my real worry is the fact that the server will only be SH and never classic AA. will you be able to intermix AA and SH? that would be interesting. maybe you could put a disclaimer in AutoKick that says that this server is running SH and will run SH maps. so you must have SH to play on most of the maps on this server.

basically, can ya mix AA and SH? or is AA or SH only? thanks

You are correct Joe.

To be honest Mpowell, we don't know. EA has been a little quite in giving out this info. As soon as I know more You guys will surly know more.

I would hate to loose some of the regular players on the aa.com server because of an expansion pack. I have contacted the provider and they will be checking out spearhead ASAP. So my guess is by this time next week, if my cold is better, biggrin: I mean worst, we should know a hell of a lot more.

As much as I want to go to spearhead, I don't think the provider is in any rush to.

I have told them I would send Bazooka_joe over to the data center and he will install spearhead for them. That's when they hung up on me.

Not so Rude

No way! Did you really tell them that? LOL

Seriously, the word I received from them was a day or two to test it. The feeling I got was that they were as eager to get it running as everyone else is - mostly because of all the things EA promised with the release in way of fixes. However, it could take longer to incorporate if it's anything like BF1942 - that is, how much bandwidth it requires, how easy the server is to set up, etc.

Personally I think they would be all the more eager to get it up and running with all of the clients they have who would easily go elsewhere to get it.
