WTF!?!? no Gewehrgranate in retail SH? -
11-12-2002, 10:50 PM
Quote from Gamespot:
Perhaps the most dramatic new weapon--the Gewehrgranate, which is a Mauser with a grenade launcher attached--is currently available only in the Spearhead demo, though there are plans to patch it into the full game at some point.
I have been playing the demo for a couple days and this is the weapon I looked forward to most. Why the hell didn't they just wait the extra couple weeks to put this thing in? To me, this is ridiculous and it makes little sense to me why they put it in the demo and not the retail. Same thing with the demo map Malta. I actually like that map quite a bit and and am quite annoyed that that wont be in retail either. Any thoughts?

The nade launcher has a sound bug, and the Malta maps sky is to low so the nade launcher nades disappear when shot streight up.

I hate that weapon, I feel it gives the Axis an unfair advantage, No skill really involved in killing someone with that weapon, I am very glad it is not in the retail version as they say!!
Mind you if they give another weapon to the Allies to balance it up, I feel thats make it fair what do others feel??
They probably will add it in a patched version later, wouldn't it be cool tho if their was a Flamethrower, yeah baby, yeah. ed:

No skill.. lol.. It's a mauser.. I will own you with it..
As far as the nades go.. That's just my insurance I will get somewhere safely to start my endless mauser sniping on the enemy.
All weapons require skill.. What does not require skill is whining about weapons and annoying others with your constant in-game crying.

it does take skill. maybe not when you're running around using it like a shotgun in close quarters like most jackasses, but it does if you try and use it properly. in malta sometimes you'll get a row of allied snipers on the wall. you pop your head up for more than a second you're dead. so you peak real quick, find out where the snipers are, and aim from behind a wall. it takes skill to be able to deliver that one good shot every time without looking. when you use up rifle grenades you have to have skill to use the mauser also (i'm not expert but good enough to get the smg coming through the door). so stfu and save your whine for your mother's dinner party. oOo: cry:

I don't care either way...
But I don't blame people for complaining about the weapon. It IS abused and misused.
So you can use the nades to get yourself in position to perform 1337 mauser sniping. Sweet. Doesn't stop the 90% of those who use it from firing nades in close quarters.

I will fire a nade in close quarters if I have two..
Me suicide nade, score 0-0
I let you kill me instead, score 0-1 and your alive still.
People have trouble understanding why anyone would kill themselves like that. Well that's why.. The only alternative is to just stand there and let the enemy shoot you. In most cases when your running with grenade ready and someone jumps out in front of you with an MG or Shotgun.. Might as well take them with ya. But they always 80% of the time call you an idiot for doing so.

Nope, I believe you'll have to buy the third expansion pact for that.

I mean the nades at the end of the bloody mauser, you have to admit but you probably won't, this weapon is miss-used in close quarters, and yeah you are right to a certain degree it takes skill to use this weapon, but not much skill in close quarters. Tell me what skill is involved in blowing yourself up when trying to kill someone? (which happens with this weapon most of the time) I wonder why it isn't in the retail version hay??
You took my comments the wrong way, so stfu right back at ya, plonker!! mad:

I said no skill really involved not none! Plus isn't it better to have weapons that are roughly even all around? Not everyone, but most miss-use this weapon. As for crying who said I was crying thats your interpretation. This is a Forum for talk feed back isn't it? What are you trying to achieve by saying I will own you with it?? I am not attacking you personally. Get a life oOo:

HAHA! Thats a good one! This is EA were talking about.
If they don't put in the Gewehrgranate then axis gets no new weapons... how fucked up is that.
