Default skins in Spearhead - 11-17-2002, 03:04 AM

I was workin gon new skins for my clan for Spearhead, namely a Russian Corporal skin and British Paratrooper. I noticeed that the skin shows correctly when you go to select it in the game, but when you viewing it through first person, the arms are incorrect, as are tha hands.

They show up as the allied pilot, and all the weapons are the allied pilots, EXCEPT for the smoke nade. It, at least, is the correct color.

I wanted to know how to get my skins to work properly, as in use the proper weapons for the character, i.e. Russian weps with the Russian skin m British with the Brit.

If you're creating your own skins, test them first in the selection screen to make sure they look right. While in game, do a force model to check them yourself on other people to see if they work.

The only way to see them without force modeling is for the server to have them uploaded to their server directory. Otherwise, even if someone else has your skins, you won't be able to see them

I did a little test on that myself. I altered the files on the soviet corporal from the SP files. The arms were the US army OD sleeves. The weapons were all US. I don't think I got to the smoke grenades. I started looking around for a script which may list which skins are bound to which countrys weapons. As of right now I have not found anything. oOo: But then again it was about 3 am last night that I fooled around with this. If anyone knows what the trick is that would be great. I know that there was a simple script for the SP skins to be shown in MOHAA. But then again this is a different issue. I couldn't seem to find a specific line in the script dictating the soldiers skeletal, texture, and gear set up. I was succesfull however in getting the skin to work in game. It was funny at first actually since when you go to the multi player skin screen you would find dead bodies curled up on the floor for the SP AI skins. Ok anyways, if someone knows the script command to bind the specific allied country weapons to thier skins that would be great. I thought it would be as easy as by which skelatal body you use. But the Russian corporal for example uses the German tank commanders skeletal frame as its base. Which means thats not it......

I got the skin to display PERFECTLY in the selection screen. No dead body. To fix the dead body thing, you have to open the mohaa_Characters.shader in the pak1 of Spearhead and find the one for your character, then copy and past it.

But I still cant fix the arms it display's and the weapons. If I ever get it figured out, I'll let you know, casue it would be nice to get skins for every every country done for my clan.

Keep posting here, maybe someone will figure it out.

Sorry I should have stated that, I did fix the dead body and game crash for that. I was just saying what I got as my first result. Thanks for posting on that though. The real hurdle I feel is the weapon assignments. What is it that allows you to asign country specific weapons to a new skin. Thats what I think we all want to know. And the sleeve problem would be a nice fix too. freak:

How do we get the wepons to bind correctly to the skins?! I dont want a russian corporal with plain old Allied weapons....
