Default real or realism? - 11-19-2002, 11:08 AM

Realism (in SH anyway) is supposed to make weapons more lethal but less accurate. I don't have much to say about damage, but man they sure make the weapons inaccurate. I've blazed away with a BAR and not been able to hit anything over an appreciable distance. Most annoying.

Most "realism" mods I've seen seem to go from one extreme of modify the whole range of weapon factors from making a shot in the big toe lethal (CKR), to making it impossible to put two shots within a mile of each other (Ares). The worst I've seen is people running SH with fast-movement and realism enabled, turns everything into a quick-death frag fest.

Curious to know, I've seen people crouching and firing while on the move, is that just an evasive manuever or does it actually increase accuracy? I've also noticed people shooting at my feet, aren't head shots supposed to be the most lethal place to hit someone?

What is this "crouch/back sliding" you refer to? Just an anim effect or is it a cheat?
