Default Spearhead Patch & Memory leaks - 11-24-2002, 07:33 PM

I would have to agree that it is a memory leak or somthing. Because I have no problems running classic MOH at all averagre 100 fps. But with SH major problems. For example in the parachute drop somthing like 20 fps?!!? The rig I am playing on: Radeon 9700 pro, 1536 ram, 2200 xp amd, WinXP Pro. I should have no problems getting great preformance in any room. And the fact that I run into no problems at all with classic moh supports the theory. I found a message about the upcoming SH patch that also leads me to believe that the people at EA are shooting dice on this one. It is located here: [url:456c4]http://www.mohadmin.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=38[/url:456c4]

Leave trouble-shooting to the experts.

If anything I would say it was lack-luster design that caused the poor frame rates.

If it had a memory leak it would most likely not just be during a intense scene, it would be througout the entire game or atleast large portions of it.

A memory leak wouldn't cause a temporary drop in your frame rate. Do you even know what a memory leak is? hake:

I made that post. I haven't heard from anyone representing EA since, but last, they told me that their focus of the patch was:

Fixing Client-side and server-side crashes
Timeout errors joining servers
debate on the grenade-rifle
a few sound and texture glitches
a few memory leaks.

When I asked about the "butt-slide" glitch, the person was aware of the issue, and was not sure if they would be able to include a fix in time for the release of the patch. So, we have 1 week, 2 days for the patch to be released. Somewhere between today and then. Hopefully they don't pull a BF1942.
