ww2, I just think of it as like the good vs evil, sorry watched indiana jones yesterday, but still I think war sucks but if I had to choose it would be ww2.
rommel what were the punic wars again? also some of my favorites were mid-evil, napoleanic, I sorta like wild west wars against the indians, and civil war stuff.
I'd have to say Vietnam, just because it showed that war has advanced over the years. They don't stand in lines and shoot eachother anymore. Plus it was a new way of fighting, instead of sending brigades into battle, mostly platoons and smaller units did the fighting.
As for battle, I'd have to say the battle of hill 881 in vietnam, when a USA Army 101st Airborne Platoon overran an entire NVA Regiment. For numbers that's about 45 americans vs. 3000 NVA.
I'm more interested in individual battles and campaigns than entire wars eg; Verdun, Stalingrad etc. But in wars I'd say WW2, The Boer War and WW1...
