Damn is the PPSh weak or what?! -

I've been playing SH on a number of diff servers. Non-realism, Classic, Realism, and crazy run speed shit. I've noticed that on all the servers the Pistolet Pulemet Shpagin (PPSh) is reallly weak. I mean ok, we need to make it weak for balance reasons. But don't ya think on some realism servers we can increase the damage or distance of it? Of course if EA did look into the gun, they could find that it did have a regular box magazine.
Yes, in comparison to the Thompson, Sten Mark 2, and MP40, the PPSh is assuredly weak. But thats ok, cause you know what all the newbies will flock to. mwah:
first off no open area exceeds 100meters in the current maps, which is an MP-40s effective range.
secondly, when I fire the allied SMGs I get spray all over the place, don't know about the damn nazi one.
and yes, the PPSH was effective to 200 meters. (the length/width of the max Radiant designed map)
I think its fine. Fairly accurate, in burst, at distance. Seems to have a lower rate of fire than the other SMG's. That could just be the sound that EA used though. It may be just as fast with a slow "sound", i dont really time my magizine use.
If you want it realistic, you'd up the drum mag to 71 rounds and the rate of fire to roughly 900 rounds per minute. Plus firing a round comparable to the MP-40.
In my realism mod, gave the Russian ppsh user two 71 rnd drums, (one on the gun and a spare,) and upped the ROF so that it fires 13 to 15 rounds per second. I also assigned the SVT sound to it to give it that nasty canvas ripping report. It's devastating at close to medium range, and fun to watch those unused to it waste all there ammo in the first few seconds.
Hey Priest you may want to consider which version you are trying to represent. While the early models of the PPsh 41 did have a rof of 900 rpm and a 71 rnd mag they were also notoriously prone to jamming and very hard to fire accurately. In 1942 these were modified to have a 700 rpm rof and box type 35 rnd mags. These changes overcame the unreliability problems inherent in the earlier design. These models were by far the most produced of the PPsh 41's and for all intents and purposes should be the ones modeled in MOH.

damn ea has some weak sounds. why do all handguns sound like cap guns. i mean i have never heard a gun sound so lousy especially the revolvers. i took the sounds from BF and put them in my mohaa, now i gotta find more sounds for the ppsh and such. the rifles sound good though, never had a problem with them
