OK, this is a warning to some of the people out there that may not watch out where you get your PK3's. A couple of friends of mine got ahold of me last night trying to figure out what was going on with one of there systems. All of a sudden one of them had no fog and he could not figure out why. He had just installed a new video card so he thought maybe that or one of its settings was causing it. So while he was out testing his FPS with the new card he went into the OPG clan server. It seems that they run dumpuser on several of the players that play there. His dumpuser was showing that he had the nofog hack installed and they called him on it. He let them know that he did not have it and could not figure out why it was saying that. He left and checked his newconfig and it still showed the no fog stuff set to 0 with the setu command. All the Setu stuff he removed and went back in and he still had no fog. But the dumpuser did not show it now.

OK, After working with him for a while I finally figured out what went wrong. It turned out that he was in the chat area and was talking about wanting a new HUD something that would look cooler then the stock one. Someone sent him a pk3 called User-sniperhud and he stuck it in his main. Well someone had stuck a autoexec.cfg in it that wrote the no fog hack into his unnamedsoldier.cfg so for some reason even though he had the nofog set to 0 in his newconfig using his setu command it still worked but showed up on the dumpuser as if it was set to 1. Which it was but he did not know it.

The whole point of this story is to let you guys know to only use pk3's from a trusted sight. Never use anything given to you by someone you do not know. There are plenty of mods here on AA (when its up) that you should be able to find something you like.

But never ever accept a file from someone you dont know ,you dont knwo what you are gettign and Mohaa is EXE which runs files if someone was evil enough they could attach something else to be autoran when mohaa was launched something like win_evar

Only get files from websites like AA.com and TMT and pmoh etc: so if you get something nasty you have comeback as they have active admins.

Oh I agree completly it was very dumb of him. I think that people may rely way to much on there anti-virus and not think about other things. lol, just because someone has a computer does not mean they know what there doing.


Joe, I talked to him a little more and found out that he did not just put the pk3 in his main he copied the files from the pk3 to his main so he could look at the files and change the hud if he wanted to. Here is a copy of the autoexec.cfg that was in there:

Make sure you have your honesty config in place with the above as your autoexec.cfg in your main and look at what it does. client info shows them as 1 even though its set at 0 in your newconfig.cfg It changes your unamedsoldier

LMAO, ok I removed it, not sure why because I don't think there is very many people out there that don't have or use it anyway. I don't even think about going into the axis or allied sniper houses on the bridge anymore or the broken rocks at the end of the road in the hunt. Everytime I do I get sniped from someone way out of range through the fog and past the farplane. Hell I got sniped last night from one end of the map to almost the other, When I asked him about it he said his video card did not support fog. lol, ya sure, wish I had stock in that company seems they have sold thousands of those cards just to the MOHAA players alone.

Saying that revealing a cheat is not because "almost everybody has it anyway", is just making the problem worse: if new players don't use the cheat, the community will eventually become "pure" once again when cheaters leave because they're not having fun anymore. If you distribute the cheat code just like that, the problem will never stop...

And besides...beating a cheater fair and square is one of the most rewarding things you can do, and gives you a feeling of accomplishment.
