Ive been playing and joned this site right when the MOHAA demo was first out... Correct me if im wrong.. but as i recall, AA Changed webhosts and the original registerd users before then got the 1969 dates.. I belive thats why way back when AA.COM was down.. AA.net was the mirror untill the host change.....I dunno for sure though

Internet along with computers were developed in the 50's.

Anyway, the site switched some stuff and other stuff got screwed up and all the people that were registered before it got screwed up got the 69 date cause stuff was screwed up. Therefore it got screwed up.

Each user's profile is stored in a database and it contains fields like username, date registered, status, number of posts, &c.

One of those fields is 'date registered', which is a date/time field. When we view it on the screen it appears in a human readable format, but if you looked at the literal field content in the database you would see a long integer. For example, 1029492988 is equivalent to 16 August 2002 11.16:28....
for some reason, for those users who were caught in the glitch..the field will contain 0 which is defined by the birth date of Unix: 1st January 1970...which is why it says December 31, 1969.

I was here before the change over form the old crappy server to this new semi crappy server. From what i recall after the change over when everyone asked this question. Is that during the change the oldest of members, all received the 1969 dates. They had all registered before a certain date that was "cut" off. and to solve it BS gave it the 1969 date. Why he chose that date is the Unix thing, why thats important only BS knows.

Yes, it happened around the middle of Febuary. I was posting on here and still had the date joined Jan 3rd, then when hosts switched around the same time of the demo release, all the dates were switched.
