"New Age Snipers" VS Conservative/classic snipers -
12-25-2002, 02:11 PM
Ok, if you all have seen the one thread about posting your sniping tactics, then you must have seen the "small" flame-war that's been stiring up.
I've decided to see what would happen here. If you are a sniper that likes to run around and kill-->considered a new age sniper
If you are a sniper that sits and waits for the kill, then you are the classic or conservative sniper.
I'm gonna start some kind of match between these two groups and I'd like to get some teams going. I was thinkg about the following teams:
New Age Snipers
1. Cethin
2. aNti hEro
3. Gary Coleman
Conservative/classic Snipers
1. [DAS REICH] Unknown_Sniper
2. Jedi Marksman
3. Counter-Sniper
If anyone wants to join a "side" please state so in this thread. Also, if anyone has server space or a good connection..post it up here (it will be appreciated)

All the best snipers, "I HAVE SEEN" Soviet, Gatz, Anti, Lysis, Big Al, oDy, ChryzM, o boy the list goes on, most possibly none were conservitive/ classic snipers. MOH is not real war, MOH is MOH great bad ass game, and if you know how to use that sniper thing the right way, like those guys do... then shit u have a huge advantage because they have almost perfect aim long range and at short can take a shotty out.
I on the other hand am no sniper, and I know when facing those guys, you better have some moves close combat along with the aim or your taken. So yea its cool some guys wanna be the World War 2 classical sniper and camp all day feel like their a real sniper, but come on this is MOH you dont get Medals of Honor for sitting on your behind like a "classical sniper" with a 23-7 score when the other guy is other guy "new age" sniper is 56-10.

thank you....i couldn't have said it any better myself. It IS a game and in a GAME, the real life strategies USUALLY don't work as they would in real life

What you are supposed to do is wait for the kill, make the kill, then move

Gary.. got your server space over on the 203rd server. We are aggressively anti-cheat as well, so you can be sure of a fair match.
Just PM me if you are interested and I'll schedule a time/date, passwords, and observers.
I would join a team myself, but I actually do both, depending on the situation.

I'm gonna jump on the "not really going to work " bandwagon.
I would like to see the results of the match but I dont think its going to mean anything at the end.

Classic "stay-in-the-same-spot-all-day-long" snipers rules.

Yeah... im definately a new age sniper... i think its funny when i go into a team-match and like ive been there for 5 minutes and most everybody else has been there for like 15 and my scour eis like 12:2 and theyres are like 16:15... new age sniping is cool... for a real rush dont use a crosshair its pretty sweet when u take some one out with a sniper without a scope or a crosshair... i know i love it biggrin:

Precisely. That is what I am talking about. Garry is still not clear on what I said. Pity.

jedi, are you in? I'm not even sure if you voted. If you're in on the battle, Captain Noctis Aeternus said he would host it. He's been kind enough to let us use his server for x amount of mins/hours.

i do believe that in a true to life war game the classics will rule out the new-age. ive been playing Ghost-Recon and me running around taking a few shots with my rifle vs a sitting sniper is harder because they track and watch the bushes move. there is also no way to move or not get killed but a bullet when side stepping in that game.
but.. thats not the game in question.
new age, due to MOH engine and the pace of it all, will take them out. it isnt really as realistic as we would like. no breathing techniques or anything. scoping while running back is not as possible as we would all like to believe.
sorry for the long jabbering
