i seen somehwere that it came out. is it worth the download and what is so much better about it than from 8.1?

i think it a big improvement, but that is probably more dependent on your current hardware setup. if you have mabye a gf3 or higher, youll be able to take advantage of dx9. My system was running games much smoother and im on a gf3 ti200. made a noticible difference. No problems what so ever with it either.

Get it no matter what you have. I have a GF2 MX400 and it didn't do anything for me...

yeah i just downloaded it. i wouldnt think though that i will see much difference in the way spearhead plays my frames are already good.

I haven't seen a difference in MOH:AA or SH, but in BF1942, games seem smoother.

For now theres not a lot of games that take advantage of DX9 API and its the same thing for almost every graphic card... So you should not notice any differences. I had some problems with DX9 so i keep DX8.1 since i know they are working. I will not upgrade to DX9 until I will be obligated...

Same goes with AGP 8X. Doom III will probably be one of the first big titles to support it.
