Why are there so many people down on MOH:AA yet the same time you see a bunch of them playing it via the www.gamespy.com/stats ?

I see this game as superior to others, the death animations, the feel of the weapons, the slower yet strategic gameplay, the voice system is far better than even Tribes in my opinion because enemy voices can be heard from their positions. The various models and the fact each team has an advantage and disavantage in weaponary. There is actual location damage.

The graphics seem to be on par with other games including "RTCW" .. in fact the lens flare effect, the volumetric smoke, and shadows are superior to it. The only thing I can imagine is that people think darker games are better graphically, but that's simply an illusion - try turning up the gamma in Wolf.

So why are there people who are so hostile toward this game?

Why do they feel a need to get on servers and forums to attack this game/demo?

Any thoughts on this?

I'm just confused because I find this game the best I've ever played so far.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

I think it's cuz that some people either have such high expectations for the game, or that the game isn't suited to their liking (not realistic enough, for instance) so that they prejudge the game based upon it's demo.

Will this game gain most of its following through single player (such as half-life) and possibly get the realism they need through mods (again like HL)?

Honestly In my opinion :

I think allot of people want it to be more like Quake or UT and its too realistic for them.

With the speed of running, I couldn’t see it being a problem until I saw the new D-Day video from Gamespy, I just think a sprint option on that mission would help, god knows if I was there, assuming I was not killed, I would be running my damn as off! Just seeing him run from cover to cover just seemed a little slow.

But it would be the only mission you would use it in, so it’s not big deal.

too realisitc?
The problem i have, and i think many of the bashers have is that it simply isn't realisitc at all, in fact its just like all the other HL/Quake like shooters, but it was hyped into being a "realistic" game.

Releasing a decent map which doesn't constantly turn into a rocket fest would have stopped most of the critisism, (I think EA would admit they messed up the demo release) also I'm slightly disappointed with the graphics but realise the demo was scaled down and full game will be better.

The only way multi will be successful is if the game can pull people away from the likes of DoD and RTCW, nothing I have seen makes me think that is going to happen but then i haven't charged up Omaha Beach yet Will look forward to being proved wrong.

I think the best think they could have done for the MP demo is release an outdoor map, say. omaha beach, aswell as the current map, it may have been to more ppls tastes then, rather than ppl judging a 1 mapped demo.

Well Had they Released the Omaha map instead of the Stalingrad Map,We would have ben innundated by the flood of people saying "IT is Just like RTCW" or "why are they copying RTCW",or anything else of that nature.....I think the Stalingrad map is a pretty basic, fun, yet small map that is NOT by any means complete, but it gives us an Idea of what we will be In store for Later.

Why do I see 1634 servers for MoH and 98+279 for RCTW on Gamespy arcade? I dont think the stats are working properly.
