I got a P3 600mhz, 64mb geforce2, 320 megs of ram, sound blaster live 5.1, and a cable modem....
I get about 10-20 fps in the fucking demo... shouldn't i be getting about 60-70 with all the shit i got? I just reformatted my comp and this demo is about the only program i got on it. Even when i make my own server and run with a 0 ping i get about 40 fps indoors and 25-30 outdoors, whats my fucking comp's problem?

O yeah i should mention that all this was running on the lowest video settings possible. It seems like it runs the same on 512x384 w/ lowest settings as it does 1024x768 w/ highest settings. The video settings don't seem to matter at all. Could my processor just be too slow?

In any Q3 engine game I suggest using 16 bit color and 32 bit texture.
You will barely notice a visual difference but the performance gain is huge.
I'm running a 1.5 gig athlon, geforce 3, 512mb Mushkin, 100gig's of IBM 7200 and I use 16 bit color and 32 bit texture in all Q3 engine based games.
I never push my resolution beyond 800x600.
Generally, I run FOV 120 but haven't figured out how to do that with MOH:AA.

Thanks, you got a nice setup man, but shouldnt i be getting about 60-70 fps when there is no action going on, and about 40-50 when there is? (asuming you already read my stats) my friend has a P3 800mhz, a 32mb tnt2, and 200 megs of ram, and the same sound card as me and he gets the kind of performance i just mentioned above. I got more and better shit (execpt he beats me by 200 mhz on the processor) and his comp runs great.

I have a cheap video card combined with a 700 mhz Athlon, and the demo runs fine. I have it at 800*600*16. ALL options are at medium setting.
try reading the read-me file. there's some tips there to improve performance.

yeah, i just reformatted, virus scanned, etc. etc. Moh is about the only program i got on here right now, except for winamp. I don't know whats up, and i know its not just my video settings, im not looking for tweaks, i can run 25 fps with all settings all maxed out (including 1600x1280 res.), and i can run 30 fps with all the settings at lowest, so i don't think it is my settings. Could i just be limited by my processor speed? ( I was looking in my comp last night (installing sound card) and i found the fatest heat sink you've even seen, it was about a third the size of the tower, i think my processor was probably like a 400mhz but HP overclocked it to 600mhz, cuz i got this comp right when 600mhz just came out and was unheard of.)

SIN, i bet u are having the same problems as i am, u should be getting about 100 fps. Those little bastards with 700mhz w/ 128 megs ram and tnt2's are getting way better fps than us. I've been trying everything for the past 2 years im ready to pull my video and sound cards out and beat the rest of this damn comp with a sledgehammer (and i got one too hehe)

Let me clear up that the fps i described above where in my own game w/ a 0 ping and noone else there. I was just playing one the best server and there were only 4 people and i was getting an average of 10-14 fps, about 24 when i dont see/hear anyone, and about 9-10 when someone was shooting at me.

meh, dont expect outrageous fps for thatkind of system... its actually pretty ancient man
i get about 70 fps max... and 20-30 in a firefight
amd 900, 512 ram... geforce 2 mx 200 64 meg
so yeah... and thats at 800x600 all max... so i guess i could lower it... but still dont expect great things

I don't expect great, im just comparing mine to my friend's. He's got a 800mhz P3, 200 megs ram, and an old-ass tnt2.(Not too great) He gets around 70-80 with noone on the screen and 40 in the middle of a fat battle. I get about 8 or 9 in a fat battle and that cannot be normal. I get 15 fps shooting at nothing in my own game with noone else in the game.

Truthfully, I wouldn't let it trouble you much man. I have an Athlon 1.0ghz, GeForce 3 Ti500 and I get 20fps with 8 or more people in the game. I have tried every driver, system setting, and even took-apart and rebuilt my computer. I just equate it to bugginess at this point. Don't let it trouble you. I just tend to stick with games of 8 or less.
However, I am running with everything at max (except complex shadows of course...too much strain on my gpu). Sorry couldn't be more of a help

I have an Athlon 800, 640mb ram, 32mb GeForce 2 MX and a sound blaster live 5.1 and I'm getting about 60fps inside and 30 outside with almost everything on max (1024x768x32 rsolution). I don't ko what the problem could be with yours. Have you tried defragging your hard drive lately?

usually its all about configuration and setup
anyone can buy a brand new 2gig machine and have it run like total crap..
or like myself, you could have a 2-3 year old machine and tweak and know how it works... like a car
its got a feel to it
