p.s dont say i should save up and wait to get a GeForce 4 ti4600 or whatever i need a new card desperately, thanks.

I have the MX400 and its a pretty solid card for what its worth.
 My settings:
 Res: 1024x768
 Text Detail: Medium
 Effects: High
 Models: Higher
 Shadows: Simple
 Curve: Medium

Basically everything on Medium and I get anywhere from 15 to 180 FPS.

I just switched my vodoo 5500 for a geforce 4 mx 440, and its worth your money to go geforce because u can still get updated drivers and crap from nvidia...3dfx the guys that made vodoo went outta buisness and dont make anything anymore, i got my geforce 4 mx 440 from circuit city for 79.99 usd which is probably only a lil bit more then 50 english pounds... |

 Geforce FX biggrin:
With my system now i never go below 50fps, and have gone over 350fps, maybe more if i run to secluded areas. And this is on 1024x768, everything MAXED.

My bros pc is running GF2 MX, with a 1ghz p3, and 384 pc-100 ram, and it gets the job done. But do not get a Voodoo5! Im still trying to get the Voodoo3 to work on the 4th PC, but its still a no go. Always giving me the error about not loading OpenGL at the console just before it loads the game.

Whats the point having 350 fps when your monitors refresh rate is only around 90? lol
That would like be making movies at 50 fps when a normal tv can only display around 24 fps!

I want a gf4 my gf3 t200 is crap when it comes to games like vietcong :( My fps is around 15-25 how bad is that! So much for the hardware being a zillion times better than da software, what ever happened to that argument? :)

 Save your $$$.
The Voodoo5 & GF2 MX series are almost outdated. (Almost) You are better off getting a RADEON 7500 or 8500 LE, or a GeForce 3 card.

how lucky, i found a card on ebay.co.uk the GeForce 2 MX400 lol the bid was ending in 10 minutes and the guy had 41 cards he was getting rid of, he works at an online shop or something i dunno but it was £53 including delivery and VAT, not bad me thinks, if im gonna get a geforce 3 or 4 i may aswell wait till this Xmas coming coas my parents are just gonna give me money instead of buying me stuff so i can buy upgrades for my PC, i need more RAM and i will probably buy a new gfx card. |
