Ok one of my guy noticed this on our server the other day:
[quote:248aa]he was playing under the name "higheaven" around 3:15pm CST. I observed him for a little bit, he was basically going around at running speed..but you couldn't hear his foot steps.[/quote:248aa]
Another one of my guys responded with this:
[quote:248aa] i think its similar to the puddle glitch in aa. has something to do w/ jumping off a wall and hitting a key when you hit ground.. makes you glide.[/quote:248aa]
Being an Admin I try to keep up on this stuff but this is the a first for me, anyone heard about this and if there's a way to stop it?
There's a glitch that randomally occurs when you respawn that makes you float over the ground. You can't duck or jump, and the guy looks like he is jumping. Just a glitch, not a cheat.
How do glitchs happen anyway? i was at the V2 rocket facility and i was axis and i went to the allied spawn point and saw like about 5 allies stuck together they were jumping and couldnt even move.

The C/C++ programming languages have many inherent problems in them, which make the programs written with them have underlying problems: things that the programmers did not necessarily cause. In a program that is made up from millions on lines of code (as games are) these intermittent faults (glitches) will show up from time to time over a period of extended use (ie. thousands of hours of gameplay).
Intermittent faults are extremely difficult to reproduce, and therefore nearly impossible to troubleshoot and eliminate.

So are we talking about when to the player it appears you're floating, and there is no weapon showing? By floating I mean there is no bobbing when you run. Also, there's no gun firing sound and no kick-back on the weapon. To everyone else you look fine though. It's a neat mode since it's so easy to whip up on the competition, but I always feel a bit funny when it happens. It goes back to normal when the map changes. It's happened to me about 4 times in the last 9 months, and I have no idea why it does that.
