The past few months I have been a Beta Tester for a new gaming community about to be launched to the public.
See Me Play Me
What is it and why is it called that??
Well if you ever remember Heat.net or MPlayer.com it was a gaming community where you have a central chat lobby, and you can make seperate or private rooms. Then from there you could create a game.
Having an interface where you can set your game settings and start your own game with the push of 1 button.
Well this type of community is returning thanks to Web Entertainment.
In addition to just playing games, you can use Webcams to see eachother and Microphones to speak. Fitting the name, See Me play Me.
The new multi-community will host games such as:
*All the Quakes
*Jedi Knight 2
*UT2003
*RTCW
*Half-Life
*Americas Army
*Battlefield 1942
*Medal of Honor
I have tested Quake 3, and UT2003. Both worked very well.
I have yet to test Medal of Honor. The support has not yet been updated, but the update is set for tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to testing it.

This service does have a free membership. With the free membership you are allowed to join rooms, and games, but you can not create and launch games.
There are Gold and Platnuim accounts as well.
A Gold member has the ability to create and launch games, use the webcams, and speak. There is a Monthly fee.

The Public release will be 3pm US Central time this friday 1-17-03
Go ahead and stop by and check it out.

Make sure you tell them RUNGSI set you.
Represent!!

The pricing is a little steep for my taste. I think I'll try for one of those free lifetime gold accounts. biggrin:

with a free membership you can't create and launch games?

talk about dirty ripoff, think of how many players are under 18(or 21, whatever) or have no way of signing up. That's retarded, though the ideas good, it would take a hell of a long time to get enough people using it to make it worthwhile.

Don't forget, people join gamespy today because a lot of people use it, it's a standard. this new deal here, they start with 0 players and want to build up to as many as GS, but don't forget that there's a huge time curve in bewteen there, and nobody wants to be on a service in which only 250 people are currently subscribed too, they'll never find a game.

it's a really hard road to get up there, and this company isn't offering anything dramatically revolutionary or even moderately different than Gamespy.

Don't forget gamespy is linked to the whole gamespy and fileplanet network ... that's a huge plus, especially for registered users who will get access to lightning fast servers. i am not even GS registered, but I get 2-500kbps downloads and have only twice had to wait in line for a download.

Well I was just posting to maybe give them a hand.
With the release tomorrow I dont believe MOH will be supported as promissed.
The Servers are very laggy, and not worth the time trying to play.
With very little games supported and loss or connection, I think anyone who would shell out 6.95 a month is a fool.

Some of the officals they have hired are no more then On-Line friends of the maker.
There knowledge is very limited. The really bad part is some have a bad attitude or act like they walk on water.

So in my Final review:
SMPM is poor, and not ready. Gameplay is worthless.
I feel they will close there doors within 6 months.

LOL, iIwas on there lastnight.
I think about 10 people payed for there accounts.
so that means he made 60 bucks for the month.. LOL

They promissed MOH, and BF42 when it launched to.
Nope. Not ready..
The whole thing is garbage.

I will give them couple weeks before his shareholders pull out.
