Problem with ReInstalling. -
01-16-2003, 08:43 PM
I was having some OpenGL problems with the game, i.e. the game would lock up when i exited from a server and i would have to reboot the computer. So i uninstalled the game and went to reinstall it. It reaches 29% and then asks for the 2nd CD. So i put the CD in and press OK to continue and it keeps telling me that it kind find the specified path. I have tried this 5 times and it does the same thing everytime. And because it is asking at 29%, i know something is up and its not pretty. Any ideas folks?
Much appreciated. Thnx.

your CD-ROM drive might not be compatible with the windows you are using. I know, i had problems like that. Try and find drivers for the thing. I had to get a new drive cause it just wouldnt work right.

I had this same problem. There's something still in the registery telling your computer that it's still there. Unless you can clean this out you'll have to do what I did. REFORMAT your hardrive. Good luck

yep check your registry files yuo prob find that you have an old install lurking about conflicting with the attempted new install.
if it's not asking for a CDkey when you start the install it's definately your reg files

well, i checked the add/remove list and MOHAA has been erased from there. and it is asking for a CD key. i even checked the registry, and Spearhead shows up, but AA dosent but another entry titled EA is there. should i remove that?
oh and my CD player is fine with my Windows, b/c i have had it for 2 years w/o a problem.
Thanks guys.
