MoH: Pacific Valor? -
01-26-2003, 03:22 PM
Ya I know... I leave and come back then go away and come back again, more often then the song about the damn cat.
Well that's face it MoH: AA has bullet in the head and is dying off very quickly. And Spearhead? Please, SH is nothing more than a $45 (CDN) update, not an Ex. Pack! ...hey kids can you say rip off? But I'm not here to take pop shots at THE evil empire of this industry, EA games, no I've done that for the past two years thank very much. No, I'm here to talk about a rumor...
As a flaw in human nature took over last night, I got down right hyper-excited when I heard the rumor that MoH: Pacific Valor is currently in the works! Now knowing EA I'm sure this is truly just a rumor. But as gamers we all must have faith that EA isn't going to allow this great series to die off. That even EA will discover their hidden moral vaules within, and they are actually making a brand new MoH game!
...So has anyone here heard ANYTHING about this. Cause if it's true, then damn this is prime time news for gamers. However if it's not... well talk about a major kick in a pants!

1. AlliedAssault is not dying off. That is a rumor.
2. You are correct. Spearhead blows.
3. Hopefully this Pacific Valor is not just a rumor. It would own if this was going to be the next part of the MOH series.

1. Ya it is... ok maybe "quickly" wasn't the right word, but there is no way you can honestly say that MoH: AA isn't hitting some rough waters right now. Just because the game has a lot of people playing it doesn't mean the interest level is high... Now your a smart guy, do I really need to explain more deeply than that?
2. I never said SH blew, I said it was a rip off. It should have been a series of updates instead of a Ex. Pack. But porfit must come first for EA.
3. Yes, yes it would! However at this stage all we can do is hope that the "would" changes to a "will".

Yeah AA is hitting some turbulence right now, but if we just hold on, we should be able to make it through just fine.
What I meant was, that Spearhead blows for the amount of $$$ it is selling for. For $30, it should have been way better.

More than likely a rumor. But, if you really want to know, pick up the MOH:AA Platinum Editon to see the video with the upcoming game. It's possible it's true, but I highly doubt it.

Someone mentioned they are releasing a platinum version of Allied Assault. Included is a bonus disc with some added things about the game, including updates on their new upcoming MOH title. This wasn't confirmed, just told to us by another person here.

AA will live on. SH is just a fresh face when needed. AA will live on. Too many people to let it die. Sure the hackers are killing the sportmanship. Still, there will be one who will show up and shake their foundation to its very base. Wethers its finally a sdk or just a real talented person..i think it comes from EA Games.

Thank you, i am glad that someone actually realizes that SH is great. sure it has wee glitches, but to hear people dogging out SH is dumb and i cant see any other reason why they would except maybe they wont be able to lean while they charge the enemy. i think SH was a step forward for MohAA and more than what people think of it. its got more of a realistic flavor that i think needed to be added to MohAA(i mean cmon, jumping out of a 4 story church and then running while leaning back and forth accross the bridge in the crossroads was a bit unrealistic and you lost only like 10 health). i dunno about everybody else but i got my SH for 35 and Electronics Botique and those Damned Sims EP are 30 and SH is much better than one of them. so i just think the bad mouthing of SH is dumb and needs to cease. and HaVoc, its not an update....it says Expansion Pack on the front of the box...and update is more like a patch.
ps....have u ever tried walking or running while leaning? its pretty damn hard and i dont think it would be very easy killing Krauts like that lol.

Lol I don't care what it says on the freaking box, that thing is not an Ex. Pack! Ok let me break it down for you...
Expansion Pack: Lots of new MP maps, new MP modes, higher need for teamwork in MP, new weapons, new skins, new mini SP campaign, improved physics, polsihed textures, improved sound, low price, meet community desires...in this case - more realistic overall, better damage model, sigificantly more recoil, shotguns and rockets to be removed from MP to be replaced with portable MG-42/30. calibre machine guns, *SDK*, allow players to go prone, add classes ex. medic, remove lean while in movment, improve anti-hack software.
Update: 2-3 new maps, new weapons, new skins, SDK
Patch: improved physics, polsihed textures, improved sound
Spearhead: New MP maps (4 of them from modders), new MP mode, slightly more realstic, a few new skins, new weapons, smoke nades, demo style SP, hyper speed mode, jacked up price, polished guns, more interactive weapons (flak guns)

Most likely, the Valor thing you heard about, was Men of Valor: Vietnam. This is a game to be released by 2015 and Sierra/Vivendi (I've heard both?). EA won't be allowed to touch it. Thank God for that, after the ass ramming they game MoH with Spearhead. Anyway, if you want to learn more about the game as the news is released, check out the first fan site:

Yeah.. MOV:V, Men of Valor.. It will use the UnrealT engine. No more tiny box maps, long load times, and weapon that disappear when you holster them.. And made by tje same guys that know what we all like bout MOHAA.
