Default Noob Question Regarding Skins - 02-01-2003, 12:47 AM

Skins, being the hundreds of KB of memory they are, are only visible when they are stored server side and a player has it selected. Otherwise, only the player with his lone custom skin will see his skin.

Since that's the case, why would players bother using, let alone continually downloading new skins, if the chances that anyone will ever see it are near to none? Don't mistake me, I have dozens of downloaded skins, and kept finding new ones to download until I found out that it was near useless, except for perhaps LAN or IP games where you play amongst friends?

If anyone can clarify something I might've missed, I would appreciate it if you pointed it out. Thanks!
