Default 15, 000 die in America...:( - 02-02-2003, 02:20 AM

If we could please take a moment to reflect on the 15,000 tragic murders that occured in America this past year.

Obviously when any American dies its a tragedy - but 15, 000 -

Just has me in knots.

Indeed a tragedy, asiswas the the train wreck in Zimbabwe today it is also a great and truly sad accident. We should take a moment to reflect on this aswell.

Sir, America has been through so much today - we lost a kick-ass shuttle, 7 folks die - most of who were Americans, so it gets media coverage and our sympathy - and Marth Stewart is dangerously close to going to jail.

ALL GREAT TRAGEDIES!

Please keep this thread on topic. I am now doing research into the lives of all 15,000 murders this year.

2, 500, 000 people died in total last year, but right now I can only mourn for those 15, 000. I'll get to the other 2, 485,000 tragedies later.

What about the 8 people who died in a train wreck here in Australia a few days ago ? And the massive fires that have consumed hundreds of thousands of acres (a few thousand kilometeres) worth of bushland, peoples homes, and destroyed entire neighborhoods in our capital city. Is this not a tragedy aswell ? Not too mention the poor kids in Ethiopia and other 3rd world countries starving to death...that also is a tragedy...and also think for a moment of the thousands of soldiers, on both sides who will loose their lives if war is to go ahead in Iraq....then also the looming threat of North Korea and their wanting so desperately to launch nuclear missles at the US.....the world is truly a mess, maybe we should all die and start over again ??

I'll mourn the deaths of those American soldiers that MAY die in IRAQ-LAND, but those other nationalities. Come on. When was the last time you saw any of them on CNN, FOX NEWS. Or even BET for gods sake!

They probably dont even have KFC in Ethiopia so why should we care.

This is about stuff that MATTERS....AMERICAN STUFF!!!!

Can I get an honourable mention? I know I'm not american, but I studded my toe. I mean, fuck! If I were some crack-addict movie star, I'd get on TV....

George Bush gets to be all over the media after choking on a pretzel. I deserve to be on TV for hurting my toe. Former president Clinton was knocked over by his dog and he got on TV...cut me some slack.
