Default New Server Sided Sound Mod - RoC-In-Pain-Sound-Mod.pk3 - 02-01-2003, 03:45 AM

Hey there, I just finished making a server sided sound mod that only needs to be uploaded to the server that everyone can hear when they connect. The sounds that have been modified are the Death and Pain related sounds. Everyone has these additional sounds in their install and I picked the funniest death and pain sounds I could find in the library to replace the default ones with. Just upload this sucker in to your /main directory on server and reboot. Everyone will hear them. One of the death sounds included is where when someone dies it will go AHH!!!!! Medic!! randomly. This is good for chuckles.
If you want to hear it for yourself before putting it on your server. Just connect to:

so this mod only has death and pain sounds?
how do i put these sounds into my own existing sound mod

Is your sound mod server sided or do you have to have it on your pc to hear them? This is just for the server. It wont interfere with client side sound mods cause most sound mods are client side and just change the wav files. This doesnt replace wav files this just plays different ones entirely. This only goes on to a server. Everyone hears it.

The whole point of this mod is so everyone on a server can hear it without everyone downloading the sound mod. Try it client side it might work. Thanks

If you want to make this client-side, it's pretty simple, I'd think...

Download his pk3. Copy all of the wav files out. Find the original wav names used by the game. Rename his files to those. Put them in the right folders. Pak it. You're done.

well i have to say i have no idea what they guys on about i do all the server set up for our clans servers and i've not stalled any mods yet the manon gunts and death moans are all there and working.

There is 8 random death sounds and 25 random pain sounds half of the pain sounds were null.wav meaning it doesnt play any. but I changed the 12 or so null aliases to real wavs.

So basically all Im doing is finding substitute sounds that come with mohaa but arent used in multiplayer and change death1.wav to otherdeathsound.wav You probably can change the sound grenades to something silly too if you wanted to but the one rule you have to go by is that the sound has to be in the default mohaa sound library folder.

The server tells your computer to play that wav instead. Thats the only way it could ever be a server side sound mod.
