Cant get SP to work!!!!

I DLed and installed the SP demo (took me forever on my 56k). When I run it everything seems fine, when i try to start a new game it'll say "what difficulty" easy, medium, hard. Right as i click on one of them, the game just freezes but i can still here the background music. Ive tried just about everything!! Ive uninstalled the multiplayer demo and SP demo..then reinstalled the SP and I got the same problem. It also does the same thing even if i try to run it in safe mode!! Does anyone know what can i do to get it to work!!?? Its greatly appreciated!

What system are you running it on?

i know this sounds odd but........

Connect to the net then try the demo again, i have the very same problem. If i'm offline it wont work, it'll try to connect me then go back to the game but not work.
Connect first then run the demo, works for me.

whoa!!...i just did what u said by connecting to the net, and it WORKED!!! WOOHOO!!..Thank you both for helping

have yet to work out why it's happening, seems a few ppl have the same trouble, at least it works!

us 56k'ers have to connect to the net every time we wanna play the SP demo??thats a bit gay, isint it?
