Default Cheat Skins - too funny - 02-12-2003, 08:25 AM

Last night, me and a couple buddies were yapping on the phone (3 way). Two of us were trying to convince the 3rd that he needed to get UT2k3. He is hardcore MOHAA and probably the best non-cheating player I know, he gets accused of cheating by the guys sitting on top of some of the biggest ladders. But to prove a point, I challenge him to a private match, with the othe guy hosting. I downloaded and installed the chameleon skins before we start. After we played even for a while and I figured out how to use the skins to my advantage, I beat him down like a rented mule. Those things are so unfair. It was too funny listening to him whine until he finally figured out something wasnt right. He got so mad, I think he is done with medal of honor.

Now this is the best guy I know, on top of his game, and I havent played the game 3 times in the last 2 months and I made him look like a chump. Now, before anyone gets all bent out of shape, let me say this, I dont cheat. I have never used these skins on a public server, and I dont really play the game anymore. Flame away, threaten, whatever, its irrelevant, but this cheat is a deal breaker, without something solid from EA, the game is through. But I have to admit, it was pretty fun demonstrating it to my buddy.

Not flaming, but this is what bothers me.

You ride me for my unpleasant past, and here you sit bragging about using the very thing that is destroying the game. Well thought out. hake:

You always focus on the wrong part of the stroy powell. While I am not a fan of cheating or cheat makers, it was the lying, indecision and lack of loyalty that really bothered me. The cheaters that come on this forum as cheaters at least stick to their guns. And please dont try to compare what you did to me using a cheat skin once on a private server.

The point is it dosen't matter if you used them for a joke or for a kill. If you are an admin and used them to track another player using them, that's a different story. Otherwise, PLEASE don't post about cheats. Next thing you know, people will be asking all about these skins again, and Pming you on where to get them. hake:

You know joe, I have been trying to stay out of the current joe bashing trend, but you have set yourself up for a bit of it. What makes an admin any more "trustworthy" than me? He's just as likely to turn these skins loose in the wild as I am. Look at what is happening to your "respected" clans and ladders. And I have been an admin before and for all practical purposes, I was an admin when I was using hte skins. I choose the maps, time limit, etc, I just had my buddy type the commands.

Dont post about cheats? Uhhh....ok. Where have you been, or better yet, where has your head been? Ignorance is bliss, right? It was much better when people were accusing anyone that could master a 3 round burst of using an aimbot. CS was much more fun when you couldn't figure out how that guy with the knife could always sneak up on you. Damn, he was good. And anyone that cant find these skins on their own, would not know how to install them anyway.

The truth of the matter is that EA would rather soak their more naive fan base for a new MOH 2 than provide support for the two games out now. They are getting what they deserve with the cheats that are out and on the way. I am just the messenger, and far from the only one.

I'm not saying every single server admin is a honest admin that does not cheat, nor am I saying that you are a cheater. I'm saying that if its used for purposes for catching other people cheating (Spectating with the skins on, not playing) then there's nothing wrong with this. You goofed off with your friend with the skins just to beat him, but you never cheat. I understand this too. But even just goofing off, if you're friend wasn't aware that you were using the skins, wouldn't this make you a cheater?

As for all the cheat threads, if BadScript ever gets a chance to get around to it, he plans on giving more admin rights out and making new moderators. Along with this are newer, strict rules that we all agreed on. The fact that every other thread in the General Discussion has to do with a clan cheating, a player cheating, etc. is getting rather tiresome. That's why we don't want those kinds of threads here.

So just to clairify, I'm not saying you are an accused cheater, and I'm not saying you always use those skins, but you did basically do what any other cheater in the game would do.

if badscript ever gets around to pruning a single thread, then that will be a shocker.

It cant just be swept under the rug. Ignoring it will not make it go away (powell is proof of that). If cheat threads had run their course, they would go away. With out them, General Discussion would be a ghost town.

powell - stay out of my threads - its not much fun sparring with a halfwit, at least Mr nStuff could keep up, even if I dont agree with his opinions.

I agree with you; it is an issue that needs to be dealt with, but I think the only people whom are able to benefit from this are developers of anti-cheat proggies, and whomever is patching MOH from EA. But yes, you do have a valid point.
