POsted by a guy named nsanity on the Game arena forums
http://games.telstra.com/gamearena/aren ... cb7f88423a

A fix for the invalid CD key issue....

"You need to block the following..

UDP port 29910 to server master.gamespy.com

This fix has been on several forums around the web, and it fixes it so many people with the legitimate CD key can play. Basically it removes CD Key Checking, but still keeps listing.

Can we have this as a temporary fix until EA gets its ass into gear and fixes this issue (knowing ea, we'll have to buy a new game)"

I haven't tested this so yeah......

I didn't read that thread (need to signup to read those forums), but it's my understanding that blocking that port is a server-side thing only. And I'm guessing if you block that port, your server won't be listed in gamespy's server lists. So unless you want to set up a private server, blocking ports will do no good.

My guess above about servers not showing up on the master lists was just that, a guess. Block that port if you're running a server. please.

More info about it here:
