A suggestion: Post it onto the developers board instead, I don't think they read this board...

yes i know that, i just finished reading ambrose's D-Day and writing a 35 page report on the event. for simplicitys sake i wrote that (it was also past 12) but u are right, companies D, E , F were the ones to storm the Pointe after a long delay from german guns and strong tides, thats 5th battallion stormed omaha and the rest stormed omaha as they were supposed to flank the POinte from behind, which why tom hanks and the crew were at dog green and spielberg was able to make spr

Just a comment about the Rangers :

LTC Rudder didn't storm ashore at Omaha beach but west of Omaha Beach at the Pointe-du-Hoc with the D,E and F companies of the 2nd Ranger Bn.

Only the C CO. of 2nd Ranger Bn. under Command of Cpt Gorranson was planned to land at Omaha beach (Charlie Sector). Because of a late assault of the Pointe-du-Hoc, the 2nd wave ( 5th Ranger Bn. + A, B COs of the 2nd Ranger Bn. ) were directed to Omaha beach.

More information on the Pointe-du-Hoc

wouldnt it be historically accurate if a ranger from the 1st batallion took part in the invasion of Normandy since the 2nd and 5th rangers under Colonel James E. Rudder were the only rangers to invade the beach on dday.

Here is a link to the DropZone a site with interviews of WW2 vets.

In the main page, there is advertising for a book : Beyond Valor (I need this book! )
The cover picture really looks like the CP of LTC Rudder at the Pointe du Hoc. There's a well known picture (with a lot of information) that looks similar.

There are also many articles and pictures about vets stories.

A destroyed german 88 gun at Carentan (Important town between Utah and Omaha beaches held by a Fallschirmjaeger Regiment.).

Note for the devteam: look at the bricks walls!

Companies A, B, and C of the 2nd Ranger Bn. landed on the beach while D, E, and F hit Pointe du Hoc. A lot of press articles mention the 1st Ranger Bn., which fits for the North African campaign, but obviously not for Normandy and beyond, since the 1st Bn. is put out of commission in the battle at Cisterna, Italy in January 1944. As events in the MoHAA game unfold, the accurate historical details are revealed to match with the context of the given mission at hand.
