Critics are also biased toward certain actors. I'll go see it because I want to see it.

***con Brio's Ultimate "Tears of the Sun" Review***
This movie was awesome. I just got back from seeing it. It gives a really good depiction of the efforts of a squad (about 7) of Navy SEALs fighting for a very good cause. The scripting was beautiful; the visuals were beautiful; the cinematography was excellent. Most striking was when the explosions and airstrikes occured, I could feel my seat actually rumbling! (Surround sound rules!) I got a feeling, during the movie, that such a plot could happen in real life - don't ask me if it's based on a true story or not because I don't know, but I don't think it is. Anyways, forget what all of the other high-key critics have said about this movie and listen to what the everyday shmoe has to say about this movie. I mean, look: we like to play video games based on wars, and we enjoy military history. We also like the strategy of elite teams and watching it play out. Therefore, you will like this movie. I know I did.
And on another note, I saw a woman bring in four children to see the movie. I don't know what she was thinking, because the movie was not made for the kids. In terms of gore, there is some gore in the movie, but not enough to make you hurl. Actually, the gore was very limited in this movie, to be honest. This movie could probably pass as PG-13. (It's rated 14A here in Winnipeg.) You will not get grossed out. If you do, then you're a pussy. freak:
And on another note: when I saw a resistance fighter using a rocket launcher, one word came to my mind: "noob!" biggrin: (Thanks to all of you guys for instilling that way of thinking in my head.)

i saw it tonight. really good i think. the seals did kick ass but they did not kill all of the enemy. in fact they didnt even kill that many of them. the f-18's fucked all the rebels up. it was a sick movie, but not there was not that much shooting until the last quarter of it or so

The only war movies worth seeing are REAL war movies, I tire of these US propaganda bullshyt movies displaying the bravery of the SEALs on a mission that never actually happened.
There are hundreds of real life missions where troops have shown extraordinary bravery but they are never heard about or shown because Hollywood is a biased, brain washing propaganda machine. Basically it's a bullsh&t producer.

I saw it on release day, and man was i impressed with the realistic attempt at a navy seal movie.. The story line is great. Bruce Willis isn't a far fetched hero in this movie. The sound effects will blow you away, and boy are those air strikes something. I found in one spot, the seals are sort of walking at a forest line and they cant see the enemy, but the nigerians are shooting at them, and no one really gets hurt. My guess, they should have been in prone, in the long grass. But overall I give the movie an 8.
