Default Any way to get friendly AI to use health kits? - 03-19-2003, 03:24 AM

Hi,

Am wondering if theres a way to get friendly AI to use health kits-the ones lying around meant for the "player". Or pick-up ammo. Hoping theres something like in flt sims, giving wingmen orders. I noticed having a medic in a squad is very handy; but then, sometimes he'll end up a casualty.

Getting frustrated when, after many saves and starts, I get lucky (easy mode) in the sniper town map and have 5 or 4 friendlies at the end. It seems after I blow open the gate, at least one of the dudes gets stuck on the left gate, or he'll run upstairs to the room above the gate and run in circles trying to run through the wall to follow the others through the gate. If I go ahead through the gate myself, the "stuck-guy" isn't available for the next mission, Outskirts I think its called. You guys experience this and know of a work around?

I have MohAA and SH. Latests patches I can find on the neet.

Thank you for your help,

Jim B.

The AI is not very intelligent. If someone figures a way to fix this, you'll probably have the problem where you need health and the whores got it before you did leaving you saying "WTF I needed that!"

Not like they need it. They have around 4,000 health to make up for their crappy AI.

I always loved how they gimp around when they get shot up, heh

As far as I can tell, there isn't really a way to add this to the game. Even when your in the 2nd mission with the CIA guy, when he drinks from the Canteen, it dosen't replenish his health. It's just for show.

My bots go for medkits and receive additional health when they pick one up.

All entirely scripted.

Well, that's the bots, it's a little different from scripted SP AI, you know? Do you think the SP AI could be coded to pickup health?

Na I don't think they can. My bots can because the bot script spawns a medkit over every dead bot, so the other bots know the medkit locations.

You can make it work in single player in the same manner, but it's a quite expedient work-around. Don't think there's a faster way.

By the way, bots use SP AI .
